My candle is tunneling. What happened?
Every time you burn a container candle, you should burn it to the edge of the container. This will prevent your candle from tunneling (burning in a small area around and down the wicks) and allow you to get not only your money's worth out of it, but also the full burn time listed on the candle.
The flame is being drowned by the melt pool. Why is it doing this and how do I fix it?
You may have trimmed the wick(s) too short. To correct this, extinguish the flame and either pour the liquified wax into the trash or use a paper towel to absorb the melt pool. This will give you a longer wick.
How do I get solid wax out of the well of the tart melter?
Stick the tart melter in your freezer for about thirty minutes. When you take it out of the freezer, press gently at the edge of the wax and it should pop right out of the well.
You can do the same thing with your candles if you want to get the remaining wax out of bottom. Pop the container in the freezer for thirty minutes to an hour. When you take it out of the freezer, use a butter knife to crack the wax, then pop the wax out of the bottom of the container. If the container is tin, you can also turn the container upside down and tap the mouth of the container against a table to loosen the wax.
